The objective of this paper is to analyze to what extent investment funds in Spain have incorporated ethical and environmental concerns into the training and selection policy of their investment portfolio.
Ethical investment is generally channeled through specialized funds, known as ethical funds, which offer their members a portfolio of assets that, in addition to producing financial results equivalent to those of the market, offer their participants the security of that their savings go to socially responsible companies. In our country, at the moment, there are no ethical funds, so a series of surveys have been carried out aimed at the managers of traditional investment funds, which has allowed us to know the perspectives that ethical and environmental aspects may have in the financial world. Thus, while fund managers recognize the importance of these securities, they encounter practical difficulties in incorporating them into their investment portfolios, linking their viability to adequate promotion and obtaining a reasonable level of profit.
