Tourism and Sustainable Economy.<\/h2>\n\n

There have been several high school students who have contacted me to ask me basic and very interesting questions related to Sustainable Economy.<\/p>\n\n

That is why I have decided today to use this example, the “Sustainable Tourism” dedicated to everyone.<\/p>\n\n

I will start by commenting that those of us who like to travel know that travel begins with planning and travel becomes a leitmotiv in our lives.<\/p>\n\n

For this reason, I thought it was interesting to take tourism as an example, highlighting the importance of Economic Sustainability in our habits to improve the environment, contribute to sustainable development and also contribute to the sustainability of the planet.<\/p>\n\n

This is my decalogue of actions to be taken:<\/p>\n\n

Let’s see now in a clear way what we are talking about…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

WHAT DO WE CALL SUSTAINABILITY?<\/h2>\n\n

Sustainability consists of meeting the needs of current generations without compromising the needs of future generations, while ensuring a balance between economic growth, respect for the environment and social welfare.<\/p>\n\n

Economic Sustainability<\/h3>\n\n

Economic sustainability refers to the organization’s ability to manage its resources and generate profitability in a responsible manner over the long term.<\/p>\n\n

Economic sustainability also seeks to drive economic growth that generates equitable wealth without harming natural resources. <\/p>\n\n

We have seen, then, the relationship between economics and sustainability. <\/p>\n\n

Sustainable Development<\/h3>\n\n

This is when we come close to the definition of Sustainable Development<\/strong>, a concept that first appeared in 1987 with the publication of the Brundtland Report, which warned of the negative environmental consequences of economic development and globalization and sought to find possible solutions to the problems arising from industrialization and population growth.<\/p>\n\n

SUSTAINABLE TOURISM<\/h2>\n\n

Let’s take a leap to get to today’s example: Sustainable Tourism.<\/p>\n\n

A good example, due to the growing concern about the negative effects of tourism.<\/p>\n\n

The \n World Tourism Organization<\/a>\n<\/strong> (UNWTO) defines Sustainable Tourism as Tourism that takes full account of current and future economic, social and environmental impacts to meet the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities. <\/p>\n\n

In addition, the World Tourism Organization regularly prepares reports for the United Nations General Assembly with updated information on the sustainable tourism policies of UNWTO Member States and United Nations Member States, as well as relevant agencies and programs of the United Nations system. <\/p>\n\n
